GeoNetZero Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT)’s 2021 Research Projects announced at the Geological Society Careers Day, 22nd October 2020

New PhD research projects, to start in September/October 2021, and investigating the role of Geoscience in the Low-Carbon Energy Transition to meet the challenge of Net Zero Emissions are now available at Universities that are part of the GeoNetZero CDT partnership.

32 approved PhD projects based in 10 of our University partners were announced at the Geological Society’s Virtual Careers Day event on Thursday 22nd October and are now advertised on the GNZ CDT website here.

The 4 year CDT studentship will cover the UK standard tuition fee and stipend as set by UK Research & Innovation (the government-funded UK Research Councils body), as well as provide a Research Training and Support Grant (RTSG) of £20k over 4 years to successful applicants.

The academic partners are providing matched-funding for these studentships and this may also provide an opportunity for overseas candidates to apply. If you are an overseas applicant, please check first with the university or universities hosting projects you are interested in to find out whether the difference between the UK and overseas tuition fees is also funded.
